| LOCATION: Exclusive Diniwid Beach - Hotel Type - Beachfront Artista Boracay Beach Resort lies on a quiet, semi-private stretch of legendary white sand known as Diniwid Beach, which is located on the northern end of Boracay Island. Artista Boracay Beach Villas is one of the few Boracay Resorts that can claim to be only 20 steps from the Ocean, step out of your deluxe beach front room and your feet are on the famous powder white sand that has made this tropical Island famous, the world over. Artista Boracay Hotel was the brain child of Jimmy & Nenita Losher a Swiss national & Filipina. Jimmy started coming to Boracay in the early 1980's when this Island was relatively unknown. Back in the early 80's, Jimmy would frequent a place he fell in love with the first time there, Artista Beach. A place where he and friends would hang out, sing songs by fire-light and listen to the ocean waves as if at times to keep time to the music. Its been over 20 years now, the special beach has been renamed to Diniwid, but the charm and allure of this private and secluded beach that once called out to Jimmy is still here, now stronger than ever. After meeting Nenita in 2000 they decided to build a beach resort that was reflective of a simpler time, a time less complicated. In March of 2005 Artista Boracay Beach Resort a refined Boutique Hotel with all of the modern amentias found in a 4 star hotel was completed. The principles of Artista are quite simple, we cater to those seeking comfort, yet long for freedom. The design of Artista is in tune with Jimmy's first experience to Boracay in the early 1980's, that is to keep things open, undefined yet principled in concept to allow all visitors to experience this treasure we have come to know as Boracay Island Philippines.

Presidents Note: In April of 2006 Jane and I Flew to Boracay on the SEAIR Dornier 328, the flight was fast, just 32 minutes in total. Captain Mendoza chatted with Jane and I for some time and showed us around the plane. Captain Mendoza is a seasoned pilot and has flown many different types of aircraft over his long career, but he is very fond of the Dornier, and speaks very highly of it and its technology. If you are planning to fly SEAIR Boracay the cost is a little more, but if you have the need for speed then the Dornier 328 is your choice, and if you are as fortunate as Jane and I were you will meet Captain Mendoza.
Thanks to Artista Boracay for the great Boracay Beach Accommodations, Christopher Tan for the SEAIR tickets and Captain Mendoza for the great flight.
VIA KALIBO: Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Air Philippines fly from the Manila Domestic Airport to Kalibo Airport in 45 minutes. From there, guests take a 1 hour scenic ride through Panay Island in an air-conditioned shuttle bus to the Caticlan Jetty Port. Then transfer to a motorized banca (boat) for a leisurely 20-minute ride to Boracay Philippines.
Presidents Note: As recently as July, 2006 my wife Jane and I traveled to Boracay for 15 days stay. After reading many negative articles on other Boracay Travel websites, about the trip to Boracay via Kalibo, we decided to travel the route ourselves and see first hand what it was like. First of all, the trip fantastic, a very enjoyable and relaxing trip. The Kalibo airport is really very nice, clean and very accommodating. Our transportation was provided by Southwest, the vans were comfortable, clean inside and cold air-condition. The ride itself was very scenic and pleasant, little to no traffic on the road, that by the way is nicely paved all the way. The van trip to and from Kalibo via Caticlan was nice, relaxing and a real opportunity to see some country side, and provinces of the Philippines.
If you are a foreigner like myself, you may very well enjoy this trip. The entire trip to Boracay may take you 1 hour longer, in total time, but it was not time I missed, I was with my lovely Filipina wife and we has a great trip to Boracay.
Thanks to Bing and Belle with Southwest Travel & Tours, who provided our land travel and Philippines Airlines for the great seats, tickets and flight.
